Cosima von Bonin creates transformations of the everyday, drawing on numerous references from pop culture, film, fashion, music and art. In her installations, exhausted cuddly toys, soft fences, rockets and textile images, which she calls "rags", populate the space. These various actors act as if in an ensemble, a community of social connections, whereby strategies such as alienation or appropriation are at work. Cosima von Bonin's works move between humor and darkness, playfulness and urgency, cuteness and horror.
