NIKI DE SAINTPHALLE EXPERT:INNENGESPRÄCH

Dr. Marie-Louise von Plessen, art and cultural historian, is the author and curator of numerous transnational exhibitions on the history of Europe. She was close friends with curator Pontus Hultén Niki de Saint Phalle for many years.

Rainer von Hessen invited Niki de Saint Phalle to set Aristophanes' comedy Lysistrata as director at the Staatstheater Kassel in 1966. The play I, written by both of them, was performed in Kassel in 1968. In 1968-71, the artist's first three sculpture houses were built on Hesse's property in Provence.
