SCHIRN PAPER Issue 4

02.01.0070

As the days grow shorter and darker and autumn sets in, things are getting magical and surreal at the SCHIRN. In the fourth issue of SCHIRN PAPER, rain drums meet witches, concrete meets honeycomb, and science fiction meets Surrealism. The issue focuses on the exhibitions IN A SILENT WAY, ANNA HULAČOVÁ. ABUNDANTIA, and LEONOR FINI. MAGICALLY SURREAL. The sculptures in IN A SILENT WAY transform the SCHIRN's courtyard and sharpen our attention. The figurative sculptures of Czech artist ANNA HULAČOVÁ are transformed by her bee colonies and shaped by influences such as Surrealism and Socialist Realism. Things also turn surreal with the visual worlds of LEONOR FINI, whose paintings, drawings, and objects bring together dream, myth, eros, transience, androgyny, and theatrical staging. Transformation and dreamworlds run throughout the issue, from the poetry contribution to Dresscode to the photo story. And with our magazine insert, you can transform yourself and be perfectly prepared for Halloween!
