SCHIRN PAPER Issue 3

02.01.0064

The third issue of SCHIRN PAPER centres on encounter, togetherness, and community — the spirit in which the SCHIRN celebrated its 40th birthday. Alongside documentation of the May weekend festivities, this issue offers a glimpse into a special artistic action marking the anniversary: Rosemary Mayer's *Connections (Frankfurt)*. The main focus of this issue is the SCHIRN's major summer exhibition THE WORLD THROUGH AI, which explores how artificial intelligence is fundamentally transforming the way images are created, processed, distributed, and viewed — and makes tangible the influence of AI technologies on visual culture and contemporary artistic practice. Antonio Somaini, the exhibition's curator, introduces the project and the diverse artworks on show from the past ten years, and in conversation with artists from the exhibition delves into their working processes. The issue also features an exclusive photo story, prose, and a contribution on inclusive educational practice. The insert will help you through the hot weeks and months ahead. We hope the third issue of SCHIRN PAPER carries you through the summer in style!
