Suzanne Duchamp Katalog deutsche Ausgabe Online

02.02.0062

The SCHIRN is dedicating the world’s first comprehensive solo exhibition to the pioneer of the Dada movement, Suzanne Duchamp (1889–1963). The exhibition presents the artist’s diverse body of work, which contributed to the development of Dadaism in the 1910s and 1920s. As a Dadaist and painter, Duchamp developed an independent and humorous visual language and made an important contribution to the history of art. Suzanne Duchamp came from a famous family of artists – her brothers were Marcel Duchamp, Raymond Duchamp-Villon, and Jacques Villon. Nevertheless, she has remained largely unknown to a broader public until now. The catalog accompanying this extensive retrospective brings together the works Duchamp created during her involvement with Dada along with her earlier and later works. Thanks to contributions from internationally renowned authors, it also presents the latest scholarly findings.

Tip:

This catalog offers an in-depth encounter with the pioneer of Dada and her multifaceted, fifty-year oeuvre, featuring many works, documents, and photographs published here for the first time.
